Pakistan Will Have to Pay a Higher Price for Supporting Terrorism: Shashi Tharoor

Shashi Tharoor is leading one of the seven delegations sent by the Indian government to various parts of the world to explain the reasoning behind Operation Sindoor.

New Delhi: India has made it clear that Pakistan will have to bear increasing consequences for supporting terrorist attacks against the country, as Islamabad has failed to show any real intent to tackle terrorism. This was stated by Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, who is heading an all-party delegation currently visiting the United States.

Speaking at the Indian Consulate in New York during an interaction with think tanks and media representatives, Tharoor said that Pakistan is a “revisionist power” willing to use terror as a tool to gain control over Indian territory. He emphasized that the April 22 attack in Pahalgam was aimed at disrupting the normalization process in Jammu & Kashmir and provoking a backlash in the rest of India, as the terrorists specifically targeted Hindus.
