The Government of Nepal has announced a Nepal Bans Several Social Media Platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), citing their failure to register with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology within the mandated period.

Platforms such as TikTok, Viber, WeChat, Nimbuzz, and Poppo Live have complied with registration requirements and are allowed to operate in the country.
The Nepal Telecommunications Authority has been instructed to block unregistered platforms immediately. Citizens have been advised to uninstall the banned apps to protect their personal data and ensure compliance with government regulations.
