Arrest Made in Shocking Businessman Murder Case
In a major breakthrough, Bihar Police have arrested the mastermind behind the brutal murder of a prominent Patna-based businessman. The accused, identified as Rakesh Kumar, a trader by profession, was taken into custody from his hideout on the outskirts of Muzaffarpur. Police revealed that Rakesh had personal enmity and financial disputes with the victim, which led to the deadly plot.
Murder That Shocked the City
The incident took place last week when businessman Rajeev Sinha was found dead in his car near Boring Road. Initial investigations pointed to a possible robbery attempt, but further probe uncovered deeper motives. Rajeev was a well-known figure in Patna’s commercial circle, dealing in electronics and real estate. His death had triggered widespread outrage among local traders and business associations.
Business Rivalry Turns Deadly
According to senior police officials, Rakesh Kumar had suffered huge losses in past deals with the victim. He reportedly held a grudge over an unpaid loan and felt humiliated by repeated business setbacks. Driven by revenge, he allegedly hired contract killers and paid them ₹5 lakh to execute the plan. Police tracked the payments and call records that ultimately led to his arrest.
Police Detail Methodical Planning
During interrogation, the accused confessed to planning the crime meticulously over several weeks. He had even surveyed the victim’s daily route and movements. On the day of the incident, Rajeev was followed and ambushed by the hired goons who fatally attacked him. CCTV footage and eyewitnesses played a crucial role in helping the police crack the case.
Further Arrests Likely
Patna SSP Rajeev Mishra stated that the investigation is still ongoing and more arrests are expected in the coming days. The murder weapon has been recovered and forensic reports are awaited. “We will ensure all culprits face the full force of the law,” said the officer. The police are also looking into Rakesh Kumar’s financial dealings and links to local criminal elements.
Public Demands Swift Justice
The murder has sparked outrage and fear among the business community in Patna. Several trade unions have demanded strict action and increased protection for traders. A candlelight march is being planned by the Bihar Vyapar Mandal in Rajeev Sinha’s memory.
